A landmark initiative for the farming community in India, “Yeshasvini Co-operative Farmers Health Care Scheme” (YCFHCS) is a great boon to the Co-operative farmers of Karnataka. The Hon’able Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri. S.M. Krishna, inaugurated the scheme on 14th of November 2002, and the scheme was operationalised with effect from 1st June 2003. The scheme has helped to revolutionize rural Karnataka’s health and healing process. To state it empathically, Karnataka has become role model state with the introduction of Yeshasvini. Today, any farmer who is a member of a co-operative society in Karnataka can get the necessary treatment and have access to expensive medical procedures by paying just Rs.60/-p.a. Conceptualized by Dr. Devi Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, and administered and implemented with suitable modification by Sri A. Ramaswamy IAS, Principal Secretary to Government of Karnataka, Co-operation Department & band of officers of Co-operation department with M/s Family Health Plan Ltd as the implementing agency, and Mr. C.P. Paripoorna, Director of Macro Infotech Private Limited, for generation of ID Cards, the scheme aims to provide cost effective quality healthcare facilities to Co-operative farmers spread across the state of Karnataka |
